1. Data we collect
- Registration: name or nickname, email, phone (if provided).
- Profile: age, city, preferences, profile photo.
- Content: messages, photos and videos in chats and groups.
- Location: approximate location for the events map — only with your consent.
- Technical: device, IP address, app usage data.
Identity verification (optional, when enabled)
We plan to offer an optional selfie-based identity check. This feature is not active today — this section describes how it will work once enabled.
- The check is voluntary. Profiles without verification remain full members of the community. Trust is built individually between members, not conferred by a badge.
- The intended provider is AWS Rekognition Face Liveness. [NEEDS CONFIRMATION: depends on obtaining the AWS grant for NGOs; the provider or technology may change]
- If the automated check returns a low confidence score, the case is referred to a human moderator for manual review. There is no automatic rejection.
- Verification is applied without discrimination on any ground.

2. Why we use it
To operate the app (chats, groups, matching), for community safety, to show events on the map, and to improve the service.
3. Sharing
- Infrastructure providers: Supabase (data storage), Google (maps).
- The verification provider — only if the feature in section 1 is enabled.
- We do not sell your data to third parties.
4. Analytics and cookies
Our website currently uses no analytics and sets no optional cookies. If we ever add them, they will run only after your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
5. Retention and security
Data is kept while the account is active. We use encryption and restricted access.
Donation financial records are retained for the period required by Ukrainian accounting legislation — [NEEDS CONFIRMATION: 1095 days (3 years); confirm with the NGO’s accountant or lawyer] — after which they are deleted. These records contain no personal data: we do not store a donor’s name, email, IP address or any payment card details. Card data is handled by the payment provider and never reaches our systems.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, withdrawal of consent, data portability, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

7. Account deletion
You can delete your account in the app, or request deletion at support@kompanionki.org. See the separate Account Deletion page.
8. Children
The app is intended for adult women (18+). We do not knowingly collect minors’ data.
9. Changes
We will announce material changes in the app or on the website and update the effective date.
